The good news is that our recovery prices are no data - no fee, this means that you only pay if you are satisfied with the results. Upon receiving your hard drive one of our recovery technicians will perform a diagnosis and you will receive an estimate outlining the work that is required and any associated costs.

In most scenarios complete or partial data recovery is possible from hard drives however not every case is recoverable. Many factors decide the eventual outcome of a case however hard drives that have had many previous recovery attempts, previously opened in a non cleanroom environment or hard drives that are missing original components are all things that can complicate and in some cases render data non recoverable. Hard Drives are extremely complex mechanical objects and can fail in many ways both mechanically and electronically. The most common reason for hard drive failure is a malfunction of the read / write heads located inside your drive. They can become damaged or even magnetize themselves to the platter surface. Other common reasons for HDD failure include damage to the printed circuit board of the hard drive or firmware corruption of the modules required for the drive to operate.

There are many companies offering some form of data recovery software online, others may read some "do-it-yourself" tricks online like "stick it in the freezer" or "give it a bump on your desk". We highly advise anyone that values their data to not attempt the methods above. The simple fact is that unless you are experienced you can and often will make the situation worse. We advise anyone who has a failed hard drive to turn of power to the hard drive and bring it in for a free diagnosis.
