SSD Data Recovery

SSD drives have become very popular due to their increased performance over disk storage, these small but mighty storage devices with their ever increasing capacity are not without their fair share of faults that could result in lost data. Over the years the technology present on these devices has become increasingly more complex and peculiarities exist from vendor to vendor. These highly complex and propitiatory storage devices require a deep understanding to properly and safely recover lost data. Trust Data Lab when the data matters most!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Recover Data from my SSD myself

There are many companies offering some form of data recovery software online, others may read some "do-it-yourself" tricks online like "stick it in the freezer" or "give it a bump on your desk". We highly advise anyone that values their data to not attempt the methods above. The simple fact is that unless you are experienced you can and often will make the situation worse. We advise anyone who has a failed solid state drive to turn off power to the storage device and bring it in for a free diagnosis.

Why did my SSD quit working?

Solid State drives unlike a hard disk drive contains no moving parts, is significantly lighter and smaller and functions at speeds much greater than traditional storage. SSD's have evolved massively over the years and so has the technology implemented in them. The silicone chips themselves can fail, the firmware that is required to make the SSD function can become corrupt, the proprietary encryption being implemented can become overwritten leading to data that can no longer be decrypted. These are a few examples of faults Data Lab sees on solid state drives.

Will you be able to recover data from my SSD?

In most scenarios complete or partial data recovery is possible from solid state media. The chances of a successful outcome are dependent on factors such as the type of failure, the amount of data, the brand / model and its age. While some rare cases of SSD drives are unrecoverable our advanced tools, expertise and experience allows us to achieve the highest success rates.

How much does Solid State Drive Data Recovery Cost?

Data Recovery pricing can vary and is dependent on factors such as the model of solid state drive, its age, size and type of failure experienced. The good news is that our recovery prices are no data - no fee, this means that you only pay if you are satisfied with the results. Upon receiving your SSD one of our recovery technicians will perform a diagnosis and you will receive an estimate outlining the work that is required and any associated costs.
